Naxos, Greece

What great service to be picked up at the ferry and driven to our hotel as part of the package! We stayed in right on the Agios Prokopios beach which is a very long white sandy beach. Our first day, after our usual trip to the grocery store (mini mart), we walked the beach to this white church

then spent some time on the beach but it is windy here like Santorini and, although Rorie and I went in the water, it was somewhat cold.

By the time we got back, it was dinner time. Hawaiian Pizza for Rorie (homemade here) and a Greek Salad and an awesome whitefish for Cal and I with homemade cheese thing for dessert. Then we went to the beach to watch the sunset.

The next day we went into Chora town, by bus, and saw the Portara of Naxos (2,500 years ago, it was the door to the Temple of Apollo Portara)

then we wandered through old town (most of the houses are built on top of each other with very narrow streets)

and also saw the castle of Kastro.
Back at our hotel, Cal and I went to another bar for a drink before dinner

and then we had this amazing homemade bread filled with cheese

with octopus and Cal had a spicy chicken dish (that was more sweet than spicy).

Our last day, we spent the morning on the beach before heading to the ferry. Off to Athens!
